//Co-Pilot Club - GPS Upgrade
Can you help ugrade the Flying Bibleman's GPS Navigation system? Work has now finished on the installation of the Garmin 530 GPS/NAV/COM. Visit the PROGRESS page for info on the installation. My friends at Total Avionics Support in Darwin are did a great job re-arranging the instrument panel and fitting the new equipment. Thanks to Chris, Liam and all the team at TAS. You can contact them at: 08 8945 7333 or chrisp@totalavionics.com.au
BXT does a lot of miles over inhospitable terrain. It is always flown 'single-pilot' and Phil can use all the help he can get when the weather turns sour.
Help Phil cover the costs of BXT's GPS navigation unit to the latest technology available so that it will serve for many years to come. The Garmin 530 is one of the most practical, full-featured units on the market. Have a look at it on the Garmin website http://www.garmin.com/products/gns530/

This unit is a combined GPS navigation system with a VHF Com radio and a VOR Nav receiver built in! It replaced the current radios at the top of the radio stack on BXT's panel.
Moving map displays aid safety by enhancing 'situational awareness' especially when cockpit workload is high. Having the route, nearby airfields, navigation aids, topographical features and instrument approaches displayed on the hi resolution screen means that the pilot can confirm what he intendes to do before being committed to a course of action and before mistakes are made.
Can YOU help? It's not a cheap piece of equipment and around $15,000 will be needed after trade-in to get the job done and fully certified. Have a look at the donation page if you are able to support this important upgrade of the Flying BibleMan's aeroplane - BXT (Bibles across the Top).
Donations can be made by PayPal, Credit Card or cheque.
Contact me if you want more details.
Thanks!
Phil.
