Saber audio player is a hit in Arnhem Land

During Phil's visit of Arnhem Land communities he was able to demonstrate the latest MP3 audio player to church leaders. The 'SABER' allows user-programmable playlists to be created for each community or church based on their specific needs.

The MP3 files of Bible readings, stories and songs can even be downloaded from a website and arranged to suit listeners' needs.

Once ready for use, the SABER can be left with the elderly, non-literates and the shut-in so that they can be encouraged by God's Word in the language(s) they understand.

The Bible Society is making funding available to record more books of the Bible in indigenous languages and is encouraging the use of SABERS in remote communities.
