V8's over for 2010
Hidden Valley hosted a great weekend of racing for Round 8 of the V8 Supercar series.
Phil is pictured here with Andrew 'Fishtail' Fisher' from Jesus Racing; the #9 V8 Ute.
Andrew finished a creditable 6th overall after a gruelling weekend which saw a fair bit of push and shove among the V8 utes.
A big programme of support categories also made it one of Darwin's largest, if not THE largest, sporting events of the calendar.
There were just a few major spills and one driver was taken to hospital for observation but he was discharged soon after.
Phil was able to have input into the Official's Briefing on Sunday morning on the theme of 'Rewards'.
Proverbs 27:2 'Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips' was Phil's text.
It was also a good opportunity to acknowledge the pioneering work done by Rev Garry Coleman who started Motor Racing Ministries 24 years ago. MRM now has 40 Chaplains Australia-wide. Garry was awarded the OAM during the Queen's Birthday honours of 2010. |
