V8s off to a great start

The 2010 Hidden Valley round of the V8 Supercars is off to a great start on Day 1.

While it was mainly a practice and qualifying day for most categories, the ministry side of things was very encouraging.

"I was overwhelmed with the amount of people who came up to offer greetings, messages of thanks and support and even asking of the 'Sunday Service' was going to be on again this year" said Phil.

Motor Racing Ministries Senior Chaplain, Garry Coleman, has been honoured with the award of an OAM in this year's Queen's Birthday honours list. There has been a lot of goodwill and support expressed to him already at Hidden Valley.

The news was not all good though for Motor Racing Chaplaincy. This morning, Eastern Creek Chaplain Richard Snowden died peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Maree and two children.

Please join us in praying for thrm at this time of grief.

Free to Belong

A new booklet has been produced specially for use in prisons.

'Free to Belong' is an A6 sized, 44 page booklet with scripture verses from the Contemporary English Version in large print.

It also features illustrations drawn by a prisoner.

The booklet is expected to be very popular among Chaplains and those who visit prison inmates.

The Bible Society - NT will be supplying them to Chaplains before Christmas 2009.
