Whats going on with the Flying BibleMan

KRIOL BAIBUL. Now you can hear it too!  (September 2007) - Hear a sample!

The newly released Kriol Baibul is taking on a different form.

Starting on Monday 17 September, a team of Kriol speakers has been busily recording Mark’s Gospel, Micah, Joel and parts of Daniel as part of a Bible Society funded project in Darwin.

Phil Zamagias, Director of the Bible Society’s Northern Territory & Outback Ministry visited the team to see how the work was progressing.

“I am encouraged by the progress the team has made” said Phil said. “We were hoping to get one book completed but instead we have three and another partially completed”.

With a newly refurbished recording studio now available at Nungalinya College, thanks to the Bible Society, the process has been much easier to manage and the results are impressive. Rev’d Neil Brain, who originally set up the studio, willingly carried out the upgrade while on a visit to Darwin.

John Hills has come from Sydney to engineer the recordings while CMS missionaries, Peter and Lyndy Berthon have co-ordinated the team of readers and prepared them for this very important task.

The new recordings will be made into CDs and tapes for distribution amongst Kriol speakers and will be a great help to those with reading difficulties, the elderly and the disabled.
