This is the page for aviation enthusiasts (and other interested persons) to catch up on the story behind the main game. This is where you will find out about the plane, its pilot and the techy things that go on behind the scenes when you operate an aeroplane.

The new plane is a Piper 6XT, technically a PA32-301XTC, which is a fixed gear, turbocharged version of the Saratoga. It is equipped with Avidyne 'Glass Cockpit' avionics which give the pilot loads of useful information in easy to read screens. Dual GPS, autopilot and a built-in oxygen system make long flights at cruising levels around 12-14,ooo feet very comfortable.

Sadly, no-one is available to maintain BXT in Darwin any more. This is a big problem for us.
Thanks to Chris Perkins and his team at Total Avionics Support look after the electrics and radio gear. They have been even more helpful with the new avionics package. Thanks guys! (especially Jason - you rock!)
